The Irish Computer Society is recruiting for 2 project executives

We're looking to recruit two new members of staff to join our team in Dublin 4. Bring your creativity and passion as we're looking for two individuals who can help us to make a real difference with our missions to advocate for digital literacy and the use of technology in education, develop research and policy on all aspects of ICT and supporting the ICT profession in Ireland.

ICS Foundation EU Project Executive

About the role

This is a varied and stimulating position for a creative and motivated individual with knowledge of and interest in ICT, STEM, education, training and development. The EU Projects Executive will be assigned to European funded projects that see the involvement of the ICS Foundation, working alongside the relevant ICS Foundation project manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the implementation European funded projects in the areas of Digital Skills, STEM, Professionalism and eHealth.
  • Engaging stakeholders, securing supporters and raising awareness of the projects aims through call, email and social media campaigns, in person at dissemination events and exhibiting at conferences.
  • Assisting in the roll-out of digital skills pilots.
  • Administering the project/s platform/s, reporting activities and costs per project period.
  • Promoting projects through the ICS Foundation’s and project’s own social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.
  • Creating content for press releases, articles, blog posts and keynote presentations.
  • Researching areas of relevance to the ICS Foundation’s objectives.
  • Assisting in the drafting of proposals for national and EU funded projects.
  • Logistic and administrative support.

You're the person we're looking for if you have:

  • A minimum Third Level qualification in PR, communications, business, education, or relevant and equivalent qualification or experience
  • Excellent organisational skills to work independently in coordinating initiatives and supporting projects with many moving parts
  • An ECDL/ICDL qualification
  • An active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with a command of each network and their best practices
  • Excellent academic writing and editing skills in English and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, self-confident and sociable – ability to network effectively, a team player
  • Flexiblility and potential to be effective under pressure with an ability to juggle different priorities and meet deadlines

We can offer you:

  • An office in Dublin 4 located near bus stops, Dart station, cafes, restaurants, shops as well as the lovely Herbert Park
  • An average 35-hour working week
  • 25 days annual leave not including public holidays (5 days of these are mandated by the company)
  • A one year contract with the possibility of extension or permanency

ICS Foundation Project Executive

About the role

This is a varied and stimulating position for a creative and motivated individual with knowledge of and interest in event coordination and project planning around ICT and STEM related topics. The Project Executive will develop and activate promotion campaigns for the ICS Foundation’s various conferences, projects and initiatives across the full spectrum of its reach in collaboration with senior management and project managers. The Project Executive will provide support to project managers in the development, execution and completion of national and European proposals and consulting projects, thus playing an active role in developing and broadening the knowledge base of the ICS Foundation. The Project Executive will increase awareness and develop an enviable corporate image by developing and executing effective communication and media relations programmes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative and sales support for ICS conferences and events
  • Providing project support for Tech Week, a national festival of technology
  • Providing project support on various EU consultancy projects and standards committees
  • Assisting in the drafting of proposals for national and EU funded projects
  • Managing the ICS Foundation’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as well as creating content for press releases, articles, blog posts and keynote presentations
  • Administration and research to support the ICS Foundation’s activities

You're the person we're looking for if you have:

  • The ideal candidate can adopt a dual-minded approach: be highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven and rely on data to make decisions. You should have and be able to communicate a passion and strong understanding of the industry and the ICS Foundation’s mission in everything you do. This role is at the core of the ICS Foundation, and others will rely on your work every single day.

  • Self-motivated, self-confident and sociable – ability to network effectively, a team player
  • Flexiblility and potential to be effective under pressure with an ability to juggle different priorities and meet deadlines
